Camping in Dinant: campsites between Meuse and Lesse

Dinant and Anseremme have several campsites and a motorhome area. We locate them, give the selection criteria and what to check before you come.

Dinant stretches along the Meuse, at the foot of the cliff topped by the Citadel. A few kilometres to the south, Anseremme lies where the Lesse joins the Meuse. Dinant is on the edge of the Belgian Ardennes, outside the Semois valley: a different landscape (limestone, Meuse and Lesse). Our previous version described seven entries: six campsites and the motorhome area on the Meuse quay. So far only one is named, Villatoile, at Pont-à-Lesse (Anseremme); the other five campsites remain anonymous (names still to be added). We publish neither prices nor ratings.

Choose according to your profile

Near the centre of Dinant

If you want to visit the town on foot (Citadel, Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, Meuse quay), choose a campsite near the centre and ask about the distance. Our Dinant page describes the sights.

Quiet or by the river

A campsite on the edge of town or in Anseremme is further from the centre and lengthens journeys: check access, the nearest shops and access to the river.

By motorhome

Our previous version reported an area on the Meuse quay and a second zone in Anseremme. Confirm the location, services and parking rules with the municipality, and check access for a long vehicle.

With a dog

Policy varies from one campsite to another (admission, lead, supplement): ask the campsite before booking.

When to come

Opening dates vary from one campsite to another. In summer Dinant is very busy: contact the campsite in good time.

The landscape around Dinant

Dinant lies in the Calestienne, a limestone belt between the Famenne and the Condroz. This karst landscape gives cliffs, caves and deeply cut valleys, quite unlike the slate of the Semois valley. The Meuse is navigable and the RAVeL cycle path runs along its banks.

The banks of the Lesse in this limestone zone have different vegetation from the Ardennes Semois. For wildlife and walking routes, use the official maps and the local tourist services.
